Members and Guests must at all times observe the Rules and Regulations of Select Connections (after the merger of ‘Connect 2 and Select Singles Limited’ known as the Club, (a copy of which is at the reception desk on Club nights, and available for inspection by Members and Guests), and comply with any reasonable directions from the Club Management to ensure the smooth operation of the Club, the facilities and the convenience of all Members.

The Management of the Club is: Rita Watson.

Members of the Club are only eligible to join if they are single, divorced, widowed or separated.

It is important that Members and Guests respect the single status requirement of the Club.  If, therefore, your single status changes whilst being a member of the Club, i.e. you marry ... congratulations - and could we please ask that you inform the Club Management a.s.a.p.

If however, it is discovered that a Member has flouted the single status rule, then your Membership will be terminated immediately and you will be asked to leave the Club with no refund of your Membership Fee whatsoever. Similarly a Guest will be asked to leave the Club Event immediately with no refund of his/her Event fee.

Members must always check with Management before inviting Non-members/Guests along to any of the Club Events.

All Non-members/Guests must sign in the Event/Club Book and complete a Guest registration form and pay a Guest fee as appropriate;

House Parties are restricted to members only, with the exception of friends of the host/hostess;

Non-members/Guests may only attend Club Events if there is an available place, as members are accommodated first (i.e. Guests normally allowed to book only within 8 days of Event);

‘Discos, Meals, Quizzes & Walking events on a weekend are currently open to non-members/Guests – with no limit on number of visits, however, essential to book-in beforehand.

Members (or their Guests) giving less than 24 hours notice of their having to cancel their attendance at an Event (48 hours for horse riding and special events) are still required to pay the Host/Hostess the cost stipulated for that Event. And of course it is courteous to remember to ring the Host/Hostess in good time, if you are unable to attend an Event.

Any form of mis-conduct that is considered detrimental to the Club or its members may result in expulsion from the Club, without re-imbursement of subscription fee.

Members must ensure that their Guests abide by the Rules of the Club and accept responsibility for the Guest’s behavior.

The Club reserves the right to refuse any person to be admitted as a Guest to the Club or to expel any Guest forthwith if any Guest shall in the opinion of the Club, cause nuisance or annoyance to any Club Member or other Guest; and for any breach of the Club Rules or misuse of the Club facilities or for any other reason which the Club may deem appropriate.

No food or drink, alcoholic or otherwise, may be brought into and consumed within the Club or Event premises unless it is a required as an integral part of the Event.

Neither the Club nor its organizers accepts any liability for any damage, accident, loss or injury sustained by a Member or Guest that may occur on the premises or at any activity of the Club or as a consequence of any such authorized Club Event, other than liability which may arise from negligence of the Club, its staff or its agents.

Any Member or Guest who suffers an accident at a Club Event must report the accident, and the circumstances under which it occurred, to the Club’s Management, immediately following the accident.

Renewal Subscriptions must be paid up within a maximum of 8 days after the end of their current membership. Unpaid fees will result in the Member losing continuation of membership rights, and he/she will be asked not to attend further Events/Club nights, until such time as fees are paid up to date.

If a Member Hosts an Event, then he/she will normally be given one month’s free membership (this can be a home or non-home event, i.e. walk or theatre event etc.), such award to be at the discretion of the Club Management. For Members who host multiple events then ‘free months membership’ are by arrangement with the Club Management.
